Summer String Camp Options

We encourage all our young musicians to go to a summer string/orchestra camp to stay involved with music, keep their skills up over the summer, as well as to have the opportunity to enjoy music in an focused, musical environment, and make new friends. We find that students who attend summer camps, bring their enjoyment back to our curricular program. Here are a few of our favorite summer camps...

D204 Summer Music - Orchestra at Waubonsie! 

Ms. Tyus and Mrs. Myers conduct a middle school group early in the morning, and a high school group mid-morning. June dates to be released soon!

OPUS Chamber Music Camp - Naperville

This local Naperville chamber music camp occurs July 30 - Aug 5 at North Central College with a final performance at Wentz Hall. At this camp you will play chamber music daily and play in an orchestra. Many local music teachers and district teachers (including Ms. Silberman and Ms. Tyus) are involved with this rewarding chamber music camp.

Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp - many levels - sleep away - Western Michigan

Located in mid-Western Michigan, this sleep away 12 day long music camp has 2 different sessions in June and July for high school students. This camp is a favorite of ours.

Birch Creek - Sleep away - advanced - Wisconsin

Birch Creek camp is an advanced sleep away music camp in Door County, WI. Side-by-side orchestral opportunities with members of the Chicago Sinfonietta and daily chamber music is a feature of this amazing 2 week camp!
ISYM Illinois Summer Youth Music at University of Illinois
ISYM is the University of Illinois' sleep away camp on the campus in Urbana-Champaign. A focused 2 week orchestral camp, musicians work on world class music with U of I faculty and grad students. Make connections with students from around the state at this orchestra camp.

Western Illinois University Music Camps

Western Illinois University has a very dedicated faculty interested in building its Chamber Music program. They offer generous scholarships - students will play in chamber music and in instrument technique classes. The professors at WIU judge at our Solo & Ensemble Festival annually.
