The Schlagzeugfest Snare Drum Slam is a festival celebrating the sounds of the humble snare drum. The “Slam” will be a chance for students to showcase a snare drum etude or solo and get feedback from a professional, and a chance to play in a snare drum ensemble with coaching from an expert. The Snare Drum Slam will be comprised of two different events: The Snare Drum Repertoire Showcase ​and the Snare Drum Slam Jam Session.

Middle school students attending the rest of Schlagzeugfest should also complete the Schlagzeugfest Registration.

Snare Drum Repertoire Showcase

Come celebrate the wealth of great repertoire for snare drum and take your performance to the next level! The Snare Drum Slam Repertoire Festival will take place at the WVHS on January 13, 2024, from 9am - 12:00pm.

​During this time you will be give an opportunity to:
  • hear other students perform cool repertoire
  • perform something for the other students
  • build confidence and courage
  • receive feedback from a professional
  • hear a professional perform 
Students signed up for the repertoire festival and the jam session will be invited to join the rest of the Schlagzeugfest participants for a provided lunch. 

Snare Drum Slam "Jam"

Come and learn a few exercises and get a masterclass on a shared common etude that everyone will play together. Students should bring a snare drum and stand (or practice pad and stand) so we can all play. The Snare Drum Slam Jam will take place at WVHS from 1pm-2pm on January 13, 2024.
