2026 ILMEA dates
September 9: ILMEA scales/excerpts released
September 16: Names due if you are auditioning
September 30: Audition videos due by 5pm
Week of October 12: Festival results released
October 15: FMES and composition registration deadline
November 8: ILMEA District 9 festival at Dundee-Crown HS
Week of December 7: All-State results released
January 29-31, 2026: All State music in Peoria

The District 9 audition will have three components:

1. State-required excerpt: Brahms excerpt
Reference recordings: Violin | Viola | Cello | Bass

2. District-required excerpt - For 2026, the piece will be Marche Slav by Tchaikovsky.

3. Scales (three octaves, two for bass, detache, quarter note=120)
