2025 ILMEA dates
September 17: Names due if you are auditioning
October 1: Audition videos due by 5pm
November 8: ILMEA District 9 festival at Dundee-Crown HS
January 29-31, 2026: All State music in Peoria
The District 9 audition will have three components:
1. State-required excerpt: Beethoven excerpt
Reference recordings: Violin | Viola | Cello | Bass
2. District-required excerpt - For 2025, the piece will be the final movement of Dvorak Symphony No. 7.

3. Scales (three octs, two for bass, detache, qtr=120)

Violin - F major, c melodic minor
Viola - Bb major, g melodic minor
Cello - E major, g melodic minor
Bass - A major, c melodic minor
You must attend the entire District 9 festival day and concert in order to be considered for State.
